A Wirral grandmother has been inspired to write a new book based on the real-life adventures of her grandchildren.
From unicorns and fairies to leprechauns and princesses, Lynn Robinson, from Moreton on The Wirral, has penned her own series of magical stories in her new book ‘Enchanted Tales from the Fairy Kingdom’.
Written for parents and other grandparents to read to children, the stories have been inspired by the adventures she and her five grandchildren, aged two to 16, have enjoyed together over the years.
The book consists of six short stories illustrated by art student Vicki Marie Williams, also from The Wirral, and features real places from across the UK and North Wales areas.
Lynn, 54, hopes the book will ignite the imaginations of young children and will be enjoyed by youngsters up and down the country.
She said: “I absolutely adore my grandchildren and they visit me every Sunday. We call it ‘Sunday Mayhem’.
“We have no television, no phones and no tablets and as soon as they arrive, they kick off their shoes and socks and run barefooted like princes and princesses out into the garden.
“They’ll be gone for hours building dens, playing games and creating their own magical adventures and over the years they’ve provided lots of inspiration and ideas for my writing.
“I’m absolutely delighted to finally be publishing this children’s book and I hope parents and grandparents alike will enjoy reading it at bedtime or any other time of the day.
“It’s a wonderful book for inspiring young minds and encouraging children to use their imaginations.
“I’m sure many people reading the book will also be able to relate to many of the places which are featured. Hopefully, this will trigger memories of their own family adventures.”
Published by independent publisher Team Author UK, the ‘Enchanted Tales from the Fairy Kingdom’ was released on Amazon on November 8. And within 24 hours of being available to buy, the book climbed to number 8 in its category, making it an Amazon Bestseller.
Lynn, who is a much reviewed medium, Reiki energy healer and spiritual teacher, has been writing for many years, published her first Amazon bestseller ‘A Light to Guide Us Home’ last October. This book is based on Lynn’s own spiritual journey and November will see her publish a follow-up called ‘Angels in the Garden’ as well as the children’s picture book.
She said: “It’s been an extremely busy year and publishing two very different books at the same time has been somewhat challenging but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and the next few weeks should be very exciting.”
