Author Phil appointed to manage Carnival of Words website

Our client Phil Burrows is kicking off the new year with some exciting news after being appointed to manage the Wrexham Carnival of Words website. Read all about it here:

Wrexham-based author and web designer Phil Burrows is set to help grow the online presence of the town’s annual literary festival.

Owner of Novel Websites, and author of the Mineran Sci-Fi series and children’s book ‘Emily’s First Pet, Mr Burrows has been appointed to manage the website for the Wrexham Carnival of Words.

Set to return on April 21 to April 28 for its fourth year, the festival aims to showcase local writing talents through a week-long programme of events and workshops.

Mr Burrows, who has many years’ experience building websites for authors across a range of genres and is the website designer for Team Author UK, said he was delighted to join the committee of volunteers and take on the role as website manager.

He said: “I have watched the Wrexham Carnival of Words grow in popularity over recent years so I’m incredibly honoured to become part of the team both as an author and a businessman.

“The 2018 festival is set to be another huge hit but as with all events and businesses today, having a good online presence is essential in order to maximise reach and attendance.

“Carnival organisers have seen attendance figures grow year on year and we hope to see this growth continue into 2018 with some ideas we have planned for the website and social media.”

News of Mr Burrows’ appointment to the Carnival committee comes just weeks after the author, who writes under the name P N Burrows, published his first children’s book ‘Emily’s First Pet’ and the third book in his Sci Fi series ‘The Mineran Assault’.

“It’s been a rather busy but great few months publishing two books in two completely different genres at the same time and receiving news of this appointment is the icing on the cake,” he said.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the carnival team over the next few months.”

“We’re very pleased to welcome Phil to the team,” said Susan Miller, one of the founding members of the Carnival of Words. “Having a strong web presence is crucial to us growing our audience. Phil’s expertise is a boost to our marketing efforts.”
